Kerry and Rick – what a beautiful and fun couple! It was great to be their wedding photographer and capture all the love and laughter on their special day.
They decided to have the wedding ceremony in Benahavis church and later they’re their wedding celebration at the court do you call the last Caballo’s
Both the bride and groom, as well as all their family and friends, were a joy to be around and photograph. The bride might have worn a proper princess dress but she was honestly one of the easiest going and down to earth bride I have photographed.
And I think the feeling was mutual, as here’s what Kerrie wrote after receiving her wedding photography gallery:
“Absolutely amazing, you really have captured all of the special moments of our wedding and helped everybody to feel relaxed. Highly recommended and so friendly, thank you so much Kerry and Rick xxx“
Getting married in Spain
When I photograph weddings in Spain, many of my clients have their wedding ceremony at their wedding venue, often a blessing that is not legally binding but I can assure you the emotions are very REAL.
However, some of my couples opt to have a more traditional religious ceremony in a church.
We are lucky to have a beautiful church, right at the heart of Benahavis village, where you can get married by an Irish priest.
During the ceremony in the church, I had a lot of fun following not just a bride and groom but also capturing all the little kids full of mischief. They walked, talked and bickered, just the way kids can.
At some point, I think even the priest didn’t really hear himself speak because of all the noise and chatter from the audience.
El Cortijo de Los Caballos the wedding venue near Marbella
When I arrived at the Cortijo de Los Caballos, Kerry and Rick’ wedding venue in Benahavis, near Marbella, the room was already packed with family and friends.
Everyone was busy getting ready for the big day but with a big smile on their faces. I can honestly say I have never seen so many little kids at a wedding!
And you need to know kids are probably my favorite subject to photograph.
I love them for being so natural and fun, even when grumpy. I love how they don’t care that I am a wedding photographer and they just go around their own business.
It usually takes a bit longer for the adults to be as relaxed around someone with a camera!
Luckily, everyone was so busy with their own things that they didn’t really pay attention to what I was doing.
Fearless Wedding photographer in Spain
As a wedding photographer in Spain is very important for me that the couple gives me the freedom to capture what I find the most inspiring. For me, it is always the people, their reactions and emotions.
Clearly, this was my lucky day, because the day was full of positive energy and crazy, fun people.
The overall atmosphere reminded me of another wonderful wedding from earlier this year. It must be a Scottish thing!
It’s always great to see that my clients have their priorities in order and that other people and good times are more important than just pretty things. As a documentary wedding photographer in Spain, I try to keep things interesting, emotional and real. Now, when you’re planning your elopement or just happened to be getting married in Spain, you probably also want me to photograph all the pretty surroundings. And I totally do that! From the ring shots to other details and decorations, I capture all of it. However, I feel that down the road, other photos will be the most cherished ones: those of good times and people close to your heart.
