I remember meeting with Catarina and Dennis for the first time, months before their wedding, in Dennis parents’ Marbella apartment. It was early spring and I remember circling the buildings probably 3 times, with Catarina on the phone, because the janitor gave me somewhat confusing directions. I finally made it and met with the annoyingly pretty and blonde lady. Only to be greeted by Dennis with a big smile and a question that was really a statement :D: “So you’re the celebrity wedding photographer I hear about”. I just love when my clients have a good sense of humour!
Those were the early stages of their wedding planning, with makeup and hair trials in the background so when I met with them again for their wedding day preparations at the hotel, two completely different people emerged. Classy, dapper, some very quiet (would you stress over your wedding?) and somewhat reserved. So it was even funnier to watch them transform completely once their wedding ceremony was over and all the toasts started! And if you know the Swedes, you also know there will be quite a few speeches and a few toasts to match.
I’ve only had the nice weddings at Finca la Concepcion so far, but it was the first to be so nicely lit. I work with light – and have plenty of it in Spain – so seeing how the tiny fairy lights transform the gardens at night is magical. It creates a warm and intimate setting, no matter how big the wedding is.
