This time I was blown away but the beautiful destination wedding of Courtney and Dan at Tikitano in Marbella.
Tkitano, a beautiful restaurant right by one of the beaches of Costa del Sol, is a very popular wedding venue in Marbella but I had never shot a wedding there before.
With the beach and the sea literally at your doorstep, there are just so many opportunities for great photos. When you book your beach wedding venue on Costa del Sol with the sea as your wedding ceremony backdrop, you certainly do not expect it all to be covered in fog! But things happen and sometimes they turn out to be a blessing in disguise!
I had big plans for all sorts of creative wedding photos that day but there was the fog… I’ve learned to anticipate moments as a documentary wedding photographer and a little hunch was telling me that if we just wait patiently, the fog would disappear. And I was right! We had a beautiful sunset AND a just enough of the fog in the distance to make everything look even more dreamy.
And as soon as we got back from the couple portraits and they heard their friend singing, everyone rushed to the dance floor and lots of dancing happened before the official first dance.
It always touches me to see beautiful families where now grownup children have a great relationship with their parents and everyone seems to be best friends. Courtney & Dan’s wedding was so packed with emotions and entertainment there was not one dull moment. From their friend singing for them to the beautiful fireworks show, to a crazy party time.
As a wedding photographer in Spain, I love to see people so genuinely happy and capture the vibes.
